cauliflower with fennel and mustard seeds
rating:Nice low fat one this, based on a Madhur Jaffrey recipe. Serves 2.
3 tsp black mustard seeds
2 tsp fennel seeds
1/4 tsp ground turmeric
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
good pinch of dried chilli flakes
1 cauliflower, cut into florets - soak these in water for at least 30 minutes if you can
Heat some sunflower oil in a shallow pan with a lid, and add the seeds when it's hot. When they're popping, add the garlic, and fry quickly until it starts to brown, then add chilli flakes and turmeric. Add the cauliflower, stir well, then add about half a mug of water, cover, and cook for 7-8 minutes.
