a simple blackberry pie

send husband to pick a bowlful of blackberries from the garden. While he's doing this, make pastry with:
4 oz plain flour
a pinch of salt
1 oz Trex
1 oz baking margarine
do the usual - rub in, add water. Rinse blackberries, put in pie dish, roll out pastry and cover. Make some star shapes with the remaining pastry just, well, because. Brush the pastry with milk, dust with caster sugar.
bake at gas 7 for 10 minutes, then gas 5 for another half an hour.
we did mean to take a photograph, but greed over came us. We scoffed it with very thick cream, and it was sublime. And you're entirely correct - *no sugar* at all.
