I'm in my late 40s and now live in south-east England, but I also spent 10 years living in Sweden. After learning the basics from my mother, I've learned most of what I know about cooking from experimentation (cook or starve!) and being inspired by other people's ideas. Which is why this is a perfect site for me :-)

I like cooking hearty, warming food, and have a particular fondness for stews/casseroles, pasta, risotto and Asian style foods. Oh, and the time I spent in Sweden produces results on the menu front as well, from time to time.

And my waistline will testify, there aren't many foods I don't like eating, with the exception of cucumber and the toxic waste product commonly known as blue cheese :-)
